Jackie Smith started playing basketball at 8 years old in Queens N.Y. She received All City Guard & Forward along with the Pegusus Award as the best athlete in New York State. She attended St. John’s University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and attended NYU and Brooklyn College where she received her certification in Sports Administration/Sports management.
While at St. John’s University, she won 2x Big East Championships, 2x MVP ESPN Miller Award Recipient, 2x Big East All Conference Team. Jackie continued her journey as a professional basketball player in Paris, France. She continued her love for basketball as a champion in the National Pro-Am Tournament, selected as support staff for USA Olympics Women’s Basketball Trials, team member with former NBA Greats and coached by the Great Oscar Robertson celebrating 100 Anniversary of Basketball. She was also a semi-finalist in the Converse World Championship.
Jackie went on to coached at York College where she earned the Coach of the Year Award. She was inducted into New York City Public Schools Hall of Fame and St. John’s University Hall of Fame. She also was the assistant Coach at Hunter College. She coached high school basketball, was the co-owner of a men’s semiprofessional basketball organization and a Teen Director at the Boys & Girls Club of America. She was awarded the Community Service Award presented by Commissioner of Boxing, Rosa Trentman and New York State Assemblyman Clarence Norman, Jr. She is also the recipient of the Everlast Sports Award, a spokesperson for Everlast and Converse and the Recipient of the “Women Dared to Be Different” award.
Jackie loves mentoring and coaching athletes. She is currently a personal basketball trainer, online marketer, and helps athletes connect with other athletes in the health and wellness space. It is her passion to help athletes transition, have a strong, healthy mindset and create a life of abundance.
