Katie has her Holistic Health Coaching certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and of the International
Association for Health Coaches (IAHC). She is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise
(ACE).
Katie was a competitive athlete for 15 years, finishing her basketball career in 2011 at the NCAA Division II level at Saint Martin's University in Lacey, Washington. She realized at that time she didn't know how to eat or exercise when it wasn't for her sport. She spent several years researching and trying different programs until she was able to find what worked for her. Through the process, she realized her passion is helping others in their journey of finding balanced health.
Adjusting to a New Lifestyle
Rather than offering a set nutritional and/or training program for everyone, Katie takes the time to understand each individual's needs, help in goal development, as well as providing strategies and support to achieve success. Whether for health coaching, personal training, or both, Katie provides assistance with weight loss, maintenance, or muscle gain; increased energy and quality of sleep; as well as help in understanding your relationship with food and exercise, and which foods and activities are right for you.
Katie's program covers:
How and what post-sport athletes should be eating.
What type of exercise is good for your post-sport body
How to channel your strengths as an athlete into your career
Testimonials
“I’ve recently been working with Katie to better my fitness goals through nutrition. Before coming to her I thought I had a pretty good understanding of what to eat before and after a workout and even on my days off, but what I’ve learned that is super important is that not all calories are created equal, and that certain foods energize people in different ways. I would recommend anyone visit Katie, whether you are training for a specific sport, trying to lose weight, or trying to better yourself in everyday life.”

"Working with Katie helped give my life a balance outside sports. After retirement, I felt awkward being a beginner with nutrition and working out. Katie helped me find a balance that allowed me to find comfort within my own body and respect when tired or hungry. Working with her, I relearned my body cues and developed a healthier relationship with food and exercise."

“For three months, I have gotten to participate in the Athletes Soul’s transition coaching program. Every week, I met with my coach to talk about different aspects of retiring from my sport as well as looking into my future career opportunities. This program was amazing and gave me the ability to talk with someone who completely understood where I was coming from and what I was feeling.
We worked on many different things throughout our time together like personal development, nutrition, exercise, identity, transferable skills, and career. I was able to create a roadmap for my personal and professional life moving forward. My favorite part of this program was getting to know my coach, meeting with her on a weekly basis and getting to know myself better. Thank you, Katie, and thank you Athletes Soul!”
